I recently had a great conversation with a student trying to figure out her career path. She felt overwhelmed by the choices, unsure of what truly fit her. And honestly, she’s not alone—many of us, even as adults, still wrestle with this question.
Most people choose a profession without fully understanding who they are and what their strengths are. It’s only later—sometimes decades into a career—that they realize they want something different, something more aligned with their true selves.
That’s why I love supporting young people in this process earlier. Helping them reflect on their talents, interests, and values now can save them years of uncertainty later. It’s not about having all the answers at 20—it’s about knowing yourself well enough to make choices that feel right.
To those still searching: it’s okay not to have it all figured out. The key is to start with who you are before deciding what you do.
