Some days, homesickness hits harder. Today is one of those days.
I miss Istanbul—the smell of the sea in the morning, the sound of seagulls circling above, the simple joy of turkish bagle and tea shared with friends. There’s something about that city that never really lets you go, no matter how far you are.
But then, I pause and realize… I am no longer just from there. And I am not fully from here either. I belong everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
Living abroad teaches you resilience, but it also teaches you how to carry home within you. It’s in the moments you recreate, the friendships you build, and the small rituals that keep the feeling alive.
So today, I let myself miss it. And tomorrow, I’ll keep moving forward—carrying Istanbul with me, wherever I go.
Do you ever feel this way?
